| Job description | : Position: AGM – Commercial Location: South Indian town (expecting candidate to relocate with family) Probable range of Salary: Not a bar for the right candidate. Qualification: B. Com / B.Sc. / MBA Experience: 12-15 Yrs (Not More than 15 yrs ) Job Description: Managing vessels operations including nominations/ acceptance. Communications to agents/ master and crew /Voyage orders. Review all port related documents like LOI, BL’s etc. Appointment of various agents at ports (Agents /Surveyors. Settling port cost disbursement accounts (PDA / FDA) Preparing freight invoices and updating same in company MIS system. Prepare lay time calculations Charter Party administration: In close liaison with chartering department, checking fixture recap and voyage orders if correct and informing vessel, ensuring that notices as per CP are sent to all parties, reviewing CP once received, if matching with the fixture note. Vessel performance management - An understanding of weather and sea factors as well as effect of operational conditions on vessel performance. Building a case based solely on provisions in the CP to dispute performance claims and coordinate with brokers/ charterers in a professional manner for this matter with guidance/assistance of the technical department. Recommending and/or setting up in-house vessel performance monitoring systems, monitoring of daily performance for deviations from CP terms and recording same- raising internal flags and querying reasons for deviation from CP terms. Recording multiple daily vessel performance indicators in a retrieval system for disputing future performance claims if any. Knowledge of bulk carrier Stowage plans and preparation for charterer’s approval keeping owner’s interest in mind, in close coordination with Master, chartering and technical department. Organizing preparations before arrival loading and discharging ports in discussion with Master so that terminal rules and requirements are well understood by all parties and operational surprises leading to losses can be avoided- ensuring that vessel is ready for cargo loading and reaches load port within committed time, that cargo is loaded within allowed tolerance. Monitoring at port operations on a frequent daily basis with the intention of avoiding delays/ claims. Stemming bunkers for the vessel and engaging owner’s bunker surveyor for ensuring transparent bunkering operation. Recording daily bunker consumption for accounting purposes. Liaise with P&I Clubs & H&M Underwriters on a case to case basis. Preparation of daily Vessel operations for information to the Management. Initiating documented approval request for operational expenses. Any other responsibility assigned from time to time.
