Job description : Position : Business Development Manager Person : Vacant Manager's Position: BU Head - Direct Sales Manager - Dotted line Reporting Manager: PURPOSE A. Be part of the business unit management team to build high performing and efficient organisation following appropriate corporate governance standards B. Drive change in the business unit and the industry with the aim to optimise the end-to-end processes and information flow with special focus on commercial (marketing, sales and customer service) processes C. Work closely with other departments and other Container Business brands to ensure cost and market leadership and joint achievement of the business unit and group strategic objectives D. Identify and secure business to meet and exceed the revenue, volume and contribution margin targets set for the business unit E. Ensure a market leading position in customer satisfaction and service delivery F. Ensure the business unit have detailed, updated and accurate record of market conditions G. To be involved in developing customised solution for BCO which involved Giving a one stop solution OPERATING NETWORK Internal External Subordinate Role Roles/ Teams WITHIN my function Departments OUTSIDE my Function External Interface Commercial Team for Inland Services South Asia Comm Head, Operation Managers, Cluster Finance team, CFO, Regional Finance team, Exporters,Importers , CHA's , Shipping Lines , 3PL service providors , Traders , Trade Associations like ( NISSA ), Auditors, Vendors 3 to 4 reportees MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education & Relevant Experience MBA in Marketing & Sales/ General Management Business Understanding 5 to 7 years experience in Shipping & Logistics KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS KNOWLEDGE SKILLS Commercial Mindset & Understanding of the local market in Chennai/ South India Analytical Ability & Financial mindset Business Acumen & Strong understanding of CFS/ 3 PL and Project operations. Sound Knowledge of Chennai / South India's EXIM business . Knowledge of Hinterland business in South India. Fluent with shipping/logistics/CFS business . • Act in the role of Leader of Others with the ability to drive the right culture and build an engaged team • Self-motivated, creative and result orientated • Entrepreneure spirit with the attitude to win in a complex market • Good communication, negotiation and networking skills • Ability to both work with strategic/tactical issues as well as execute operational tasks • Business and financial acumen • Market insight and network • Fluency in written / verbal English and verbal in Tamil • Ability to multi task and spend 60 percent time on new business development and new product introduction into the market
