Job description : Position Name Sr. Mgr/AGM – Litigation Position Details Current position holder Division Legal Location BandraKurla Complex, Mumbai Reports to Head – Legal Date No. of positions 1 Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators) • Handle all litigation w.r.t mining, environment and land acquisition (High Court and above) • Advise/Opine on any business restructuring needs in view of the land, commercial and tax laws • Standardize land acquisition processes and activities across the Group to ensure the legal vetting and due diligence exercise results in time and cost savings. • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant State Ministries and concerned regulatory authorities and bodies. • Strengthen and build Group’s relationship with relevant law firms and other advisory companies · Evolve standard systems and processes for negotiating, reviewing, drafting and vetting of legal documents, cross border agreements & contracts, MOUs w.r.t land acquisition Critical Tasks • Responsible for legal vetting and documentation relating to land acquisition across the Group • Preparing Legal briefs for solicitors/legal counsels and legal documentation and case papers • Dealing with alternative dispute resolution mechanism • Dealing with litigation - legal cases and court matters defending the company’s rights and interests and effectively countering litigation against the company; and taking appropriate legal recourse, including instituting legal case against the offending parties, in consultation with the management to safeguard the company’s interests • Dealing with legal matters concerning the mining, environment and land acquisition projects of the company • Dealing with corporate laws and legal issues. • Dealing with solicitors, counsels, various legal authorities, registration authorities, courts, tribunals, arbitration panels, etc.; and representing the company on various legal forums • Advise on joint ventures, collaborations, joint development agreements and consortium arrangements in relation to real estate projects • Seek clearances from relevant government bodies for various sites • Liaisoning with various government bodies on legal issues and for registrations / permissions, individual land owners • Land acquisition for mining lease and village rehabilitation, property searches, verification of land records Educational Background and Work Experience Educational Background :LLB, LLM (preferred) Work Experience: 12 – 15yrs of Experience of handling litigation at High Court and above for mining, environment land acquisition cases. Strong relationships with stakeholders like law firms, Real estate regulatory authorities.
