Job description | : Role: TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT / Reporting to : General Manager/ Location : Bahrain - candidate. Mandatory Experience: (1)Minimum 10 years of sailing experience – bulk carriers, offshore vessels. (2)Minimum 24 months sea-time as Second Engineer or 6 months sea-time as Chief Engineer. (3)Sailing experience on bulk carriers / dry cargo vessels. (4)Minimum 2 years’ experience as Technical Superintendent / Manager in a shore-based capacity. Mandatory Education: (1) Graduate Marine / Mechanical Engineer (2) 2nd Class C.O.P MOT UK / India certification Preferable education and experience : (1) 1st Class COP MOT UK / India (2) Sailed as Chief Engineer Alternative Note : We may accept Graduate Engineer with minimum 18 years of marine shipyard / drydock / marine manufacturing company experience if candidate has following minimum attributes: (1) Minimum First Class in all academics – 10th / 12th / Graduation. (2) Prefer additional specialization in mechanics / hydraulics / electricals. (3) Must have served in reputed drydock / marine maintenance / marine engineering facility. Job description 1. Budget, execute, control technical expenses of vessels – fuel, crew, surveys, maintenance etc. 2. Hands – on preventive & corrective maintenance of vessel propulsion systems, steering gears, towing gear, deck machineries, electrical systems, generators and cargo gear. 3. Hands – on preventive & corrective maintenance of hull, water tight compartments, other deck fittings / appurtenances. 4. Supervise maintenance of bridge equipment, navigational systems, LSA/FFA gear. 5. Coordinate Class, Insurance, Warranty surveys & audits, closure of survey/audit recommendations & maintaining validity of Class & Insurance of vessels. 6. Coordinate & handle Port state / Flag state inspections, recommendations & action plans. 7. Plan & execute dry docking of vessels as per Class requirements. 8. Advise on maintenance of own shore cranes, jetties, bollards & buoyage. 9. New buildings, S & P assistance as required. Key result areas: 1. Maintain vessel technical cost within Business Plan budget 2. Maintain zero harm safety scorecard 3. Maintain continuity of Class & Insurance of vessels. 4. Maintain berth crane / jetties cost within BP budget. 5. Maintain zero deviations from IMO & Port Authority safety & pollution standards Budgeted CTC 30 lakhs to 35 lakhs p.a. |
