Job description | : • Role will fully support daily marine activities, providing nautical advice and support in all marine operational matters. • Role will provide experience and expertise to support marine self-verification (inspection) activities encompassing all marine assets operated or chartered by client, thereby ensuring safe and compliant operations. • Ensure compliance with all HSSE expectations and actively participate in all safety programs. • Work closely with the MQA function to develop marine procedures, systems, and processes to drive safe and compliant marine operations for client. • Provide mentor support and coaching to other MQA function members in all nautical matters associated with marine operations and personnel development. • Provides regional/global guidance on issues related to marine navigation, ship handling and seamanship and related stewardship processes. • Provide regional/global guidance on issues related to floating structure marine systems operations and related stewardship processes. • Provide necessary subject matter expertise to ensure the corporation’s vessel operations are conducted safely, reliably, cost effectively and in compliance with appropriate rules, regulations, and standards (i.e., OCIMF, SIGTTO, etc.). • Support client in the day-to-day stewardship of chartered marine vessels of all types. • Apply industry standard (OCIMF) vessel and operator evaluation tools to assess candidate vessels and operators. Lead initiatives to assess and improve vessel and operator quality and efficiency. Serve as a champion for marine vessel operator quality. • Lead and/or participate in risk assessment and hazard ID initiatives relating to marine vessel operations. • Support corporate industry advocacy efforts in the field of vessel operations through participation in industry organizations such as OCIMF and SIGTTO. • Evaluation of potential new ports and terminals. • Evaluation of STS operators/service providers for all liquid cargos. • Support resolution of marine issues relating to terminal interfaces. • Provide expert guidance on the operational, navigational, cargo / ballast and mooring related activities in the carriage of LNG / Oil / Chemicals or DP operations. • Support the development and implementation of systems to deliver safe and compliant marine operations at sites across client spheres of operation. • Support the identification and management of risk associated with marine operations, always striving to embrace continuous improvement to minimise operational risk to client. • Ensure both Assets and vessels comply with local, National, and International maritime legislation inclusive of Classification Society and Flag State requirements. • Responsible for facilitating both internal and external audits and agreeing any resulting actions and applicable closure dates. • Establish and maintain effective relationships with others ensuring effective collaboration with the various Technical Authorities (Marine, Engineering, Floating Structure, Floating Systems etc) HSSE Teams based within client. • Assist in the preparation of policy and procedural documents as directed and agreed. • You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are considered to be relevant to your position. |
