Job description | : Job Title : VP, Project Logistics Department : Project Job Location : Mumbai, India Travel Required : 20-30% Report To: CEO, South Asia & VP, Projects Logistics, APAC Direct Reports: Country Regional heads, Pricing and BD Manager The primary purpose of this position is to drive growth of Project Logistics business in India. This will include a detailed business diagnosis, an executable strategy and action plan to achieve financial and strategic goals for the country. This position will include business development, Pricing, Bids/Proposals, implementation, Contractual and Risk management. This position will possess Capital Projects, Oil & Gas, and Freight Forwarding expertise. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Leading and developing the India Projects team from pursuit to implementation with focus on business development, pricing and tender management. • Establish business development pipeline for India and build sales competence around Projects Logistics (Oil & Gas, Capital Projects and Marine Services). • Ensure alignment with both Regional and Corporate strategic goals and prioritize initiatives for maximum effectiveness. • Responsible for taking ownership of certain major clients / targets and ensuring that all functions of the organization are aligned to meet the strategic commercial objectives for specific accounts. • Protect the interests of Company in contract terms and conditions to enhance operational excellence, increase margins and mitigate risk. • Will lead and be held accountable for the delivery of revenue budgets developed as part of the planning and forecasting process. • Leading and mentoring the Projects team to identify new clients and capitalize on opportunities. • Overseeing all marketing activity, materials and collateral, ensuring quality and consistency • Developing relationships with key offices/agents/partners/clients in India and other geographies; networking and relationship building at a senior level • Responsible for timely response and resolution to the challenges that arise within the department. • Ownership and oversight of bid/proposal product(s) delivered. • Leverage the Projects team in support of Regional and Global key account growth and development. • Align Commercial with Operations to ensure effective pursuit, strengthen implementation and enhance operational performance • Responsible for measurement and effectiveness of Projects team performance • Communicate and collaborate with the Company network partners with a complete enterprise view so as not to create silos and outcomes that do not talk to the Company’s best interests • Motivate and mentor direct reports to cultivate skills in their responsibilities, enhance interrelationship between departments and improve network behavior in the Company Way. Skills and Experience: • Strong commercial success, ability to directly accelerate business growth and to develop and motivate in a complex environment. • Experience at a senior managerial level within Freight Forwarding / Project Logistics background with a focus on Oil and Gas, Capital Projects and Marine Services. • Participative, inclusive, and influential leadership style – an inspirational approach to leading within an organization. • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a global organization serving international and domestic customers. • Demonstrate highly developed analytical skills and planning competencies with an excellent ability to build strategies that will convert into actions. • Possess excellent negotiation and consultative selling skills in a truly international business environment. This coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and understanding of varying cultures and nationalities. • Flexible and participative with strong consensus and cross-functional orientation. • Strong personal presence and customer-oriented attitude. The ability to adapt, lead and motivate others. • Exceptionally strong management skills and proven expertise in the areas of strategic sales and key account management. Candidate will need to be well-versed in growing a solid and experienced team to carry out the company’s growth plans. • Gifted in communicating enthusiasm for the company’s mission to both internal and external constituencies. • Passionate about the business and showing their will to contribute to its success in the long run. LANGUAGE SKILLS English is the principal language for this position. This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment. COMPUTER SKILLS Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technical software is required.
